Hello from Sue Gregor
Hi
I have now opened my shop on line! I hope you take a look at my work. I will be uploading new pieces over the next few weeks so watch this space
about my work
My main mission is to share my appriciation of the natural world which I have found always cheers me up. I choose quite ordinary plants and weeds, for the surface pattern I choose quite ordinary plants and weeds, I hope that the wearer will not only enjoy them as jewellery but also review their appreciation of the natural world. I am inspired both by the modernist approach to materials and enjoy cheap plastic items from places like Hong Kong. I set out to create a marriage between the industrial and the organic.
This method of dying and embossing plastic I call ‘fossilized Plastic’ due to the fine detail which it is possible to capture with in the embossed surface. I use the actual leaves or flowers to create the design. They perish in the process leaving a memory of the relife of their surface on the plastic, like a fossile.

Dylan and Blake
These two teddy bears were a commission for a lady who wanted a pair of teddy bears for her two grandchildren who are both under three years old. She wanted to give them something special for Christmas that they would cherish for years to come. They are both made from Tencel using a twill weave and contemporary tartan pattern. To make them look like a pair I used the same yarn for each but changed the composition of the tartan and proportion of colour. To make them even more personalised and special to each child I embroidered the first letter of their names on to the bottom of the foot.
